SASSA are going to be rendering companies for example new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer treatment enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency mentioned it is alarmed with regards to the substantial amount of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The intention with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to SRD the large number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This really is because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no completely functional office dedicated to service the area each day. The company level established for intervention encounters a significant inflow of prospective beneficiaries, that makes it difficult for your Workplace to attend to all people who stop by a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more methods to enable the servicing of all clients and raise read more usage of Social Assistance solutions,” the agency said.
